Full-Time opening for a Board Certified Psychiatrist needed for a growing mental health agency in our Stuart, Florida location.

• Assess and treat mental illnesses through a combination of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and medication.
• Regular discussions with patients about their problems; help them find solutions through changes in their behavioral patterns, the exploration of their past experiences, or group and family therapy sessions.
• Collaborate and supervision with mid-level providers.
• Provide emergency treatment orders as needed.
• Administer medications to correct chemical imbalances that cause emotional problems.
• Uses Athena, the computerized medical record system, for progress notes, orders, and medical record review and completion of such records in a timely manner
• Delivers person and family-centered care.
• Demonstrates understanding of developmental/age-specific issues in the treatment of patients.
• Interacts effectively with patients, supervisors, coworkers and external agency employees.
• Performs work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complies with policies and procedures regarding workers' compensation, risk management, and security.

Work Location: 

Hybrid / in office

Purpose: Post incoming patient and insurance payments accurately according to the Explanation of Benefits or documentation received to support the payment.

• Accurately post payments and adjustments both electronically and manually

• Balances batches and runs transaction reports

• maintaining accurate medical billing records, and documenting revenue from patient payments and insurance reimbursements.

• Apply insurance payments according to specific dates and procedures according to the EOB

• Apply patient payments

• Balance and complete daily worksheets

• Work special projects set by supervisor

• Work with management to research reimbursement and billing issues.

• Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload

• Consistently report to work on time and is prepared to perform duties of the position

The Medical Collector communicates with insurance companies and governmental entities to ensure

maximum payment in a timely manner. Review and handle all correspondence from insurance

companies and patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works the insurance aging report
• Calls the individual insurance companies whose balances are past due and follow through with any research, re-filing, etc. that needs to be done to obtain maximum payment.
• Communicates with insurance companies by telephone to determine reason for delay in payment.
• Answer patient questions regarding their balance.
• Filing appeals with insurance companies
• Posting appropriate non-payment from insurance companies
• Document all communications with patients and insurance companies
• Sorts, scans and file correspondence
